Misuse Your Tool: Pattern Provocateur

Graphical ornament creator made from mundane tools.
The goal of this project was to repurpose household tools for graphic design. The Pattern Provocateur is an ink-filled syringe coupled to a drill. When turned on, the newly formed tool produces a distinct pattern.
The patterns can be applied as ornaments for typographic compositions. In the 19th century, this was common practice and many typefaces came with their own set of ornaments. These could be found in the supplement of the type specimen.
